I want that motherfucker Joe the plumber dead".

Karel the Radio Host Gets Booted After Joe the Plumber Comment

Sarah McBride reports on the presidential race.

Joe the Plumber has ticked off a lot of pundits, but over the weekend, he cost one his job, at least temporarily.
Charles “Karel” Bouley, a weekend radio personality on San Francisco’s KGO, had just gone from a listener phone call into the top-of-the-hour news feed, with his microphone off– or so he thought. Instead, his mic was still live, broadcasting his musings on that night’s news to thousands of listeners to KGO, the Bay Area’s #1 radio station.
He didn’t have nice things to say about Joe Wurzelbacher, the unlicensed Ohio plumber who ended up caught in the tug of war between presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain over tax policy.
Bouley bellowed a few obscenities over McCain’s comments about the suddenly famous Ohio everyman. (The clip is here.)
Now, Bouley is off the air while station executives at the Citadel Broadcasting Corp.-owned station ponder his fate. “It’s a personnel matter and it’s under review,” said Jack Swanson, operations director at KGO. “It is clear what happened wasn’t intentional.” Bouley’s evening timeslot this coming Saturday is pre-empted by a football game anyway; the station still hasn’t announced who will fill in on Sunday.
Bouley, who also blogs for Huffington Post, could get a second chance. After all, KGO is owned by Citadel, the same folks who snapped up radio personality Don Imus after CBS Corp. kicked him off the air for racist comments.
UPDATE: Bouley apologized for the outburst on the open mic. “I was, and am deeply sorry that went out,” said Bouley, who called Wurzelbacher “an actor playing the character of Joe the Plumber.”
